Make a donation to cancer research in memory of Jerry Morris

 to make a donation in loving memory of Jerry Morris. This donation will go to support the A Christmas To Cure Cancer Pelotonia 10 ride of his niece, Lindsay Menigat in the fight against cancer. 100% of your donation will go towards finding a cure for cancer at Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
Jerry served in the Vietnam Conflict as an MP guarding the compound. When he was on duty in the tower, Agent Orange was sprayed around the compound to kill foliage. In March 2008 he was diagnosed with CLL which is directly related to the chemical. He had various chemo regimens which did not work and was consequently sent to the James to participate in research studies. Two of the research drugs helped kill his cancer but each time he was taken off the study due to pneumonia. In July 2009 he received a stem cell transplant from an anonymous donor which eliminated the cancer in his blood and bone marrow. The cancer in his lymph nodes continued to grow. Radiation and two more different regimens of chemo could not stop it and eventually his stem cells took back over his body and the cancer returned to his blood. He died on June 14, 2010.

 WBNS 10-TV news anchor Heather Pick released her debut charity CD titled “Circle of Support” on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007. The CD, produced in conjunction with A Christmas to Cure Cancer, features three original songs. Pick chose the timing of this release to coincide with October as Breast Cancer Awareness month.
She hopes this will be a great gift idea for those currently battling cancer, cancer survivors and their supporters and that it will raise awareness and money to fight the disease. It also makes a great corporate gift for clients and employees while at the same time supporting the cancer-related charity of your choice based on our partner list.
