Announces Benefit Concerts to raise money for our Peloton in support of Pelotonia 10

Thursday, June 3 – The Mudflats Bar & Grill, Galena, OH
A Christmas To Cure Cancer is sponsoring a team of 10 riders for Pelotonia 10. Our goal is to help raise the $20,000 to cover our team’s pledge. This will be accomplished through a number of fundraiser concerts throughout the summer leading up to the ride the weekend of August 20, 2010.

Our first concert series will feature singer songwriter Bryan Kennedy, who will travel to Columbus to tell his stories and share his music including three #1 radio hits he wrote for Garth Brooks: “Good Ride Cowboy,” “The Beaches of Cheyenne,” and “American Honky Tonk Bar Association.”
Bryan began his musical quest as a song plugger for his father, and later for Ricky Skaggs, and The Statler Brothers. He attributes his writing know how to hearing all the great songs he got to hear daily while being a son to a legendary record producer Jerry Kennedy, and to growing up in the same house with a mom (Linda Kennedy) who was singing and recording records as a teenager, and two brothers who would become most influential in Bryan’s life and in his career. Bryan has written several songs that appear on other artists CD’s like; Rick Trevino, The Derailers, Deryl Dodd, Chuck Wagon and the Wheels, and Jerry Reed, and others. He also has written other songs that appear on numerous Garth Brooks records. In addition, Bryan opened up for Garth Brooks with good friend, Dan Roberts performing in front of millions of people. Bryan says that all they really did was “provide back ground music for those buying T-shirts,” and is forever grateful to Garth for the ride.
Bryan’s show is totally “HIM”. He is hard to describe but with influences ranging from Merle Haggard to Bill Cosby, you will no doubt understand where he gets his sense of humor as well as his ability to tug on your heartstrings. You will leave most entertained and refreshed with a smile in your heart. |

Bryan will be joining Columbus musician and entertainment legend, Chris Logsdon, at 7 pm, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Rick’s Coaches, 230 Granville St., Gahanna, OH, 43230, 614-476-4496. In partnership with Rick Stover, owner of Rick’s Coaches, the evening will comprise of music, live and silent auction as well as a 50/50 raffle. We ask patrons to consider making a voluntary $5 donation to the cause as well as participate in other fundraising activities

At 7 pm, Thursday, June 3, 2010, Bryan will give a solo performance for the patrons of The Mudflats Bar & Grill, owned by Jeff and Jane White, 31 W. Columbus St., Galena, OH, 740-965-5700. We ask patrons to consider making a voluntary $5 donation to the cause as well as participate in other fundraising activities. A training ride is being coordinated that evening by A Christmas To Cure Cancer Peloton Team Lead, Siobhan Blake, to begin and end at The Mudflats. Through the efforts of A Christmas To Cure Cancer and Pelotonia, we can help OSU’s James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute find a cure for cancer. If we all band together, we can increase the tempo for cancer research and speed the discovery of a cure!
